About
Welcome to Bay Horizon Dahlias, a ¼ acre farm located in Birch Bay, Washington, minutes from the Pacific Coast. My name is Cherstin and I have been growing dahlias for 7 years and selling tubers for 4 years.
In 2018, I started my journey with dahlias. My sweet 18 year old kitty, Gracie, had just passed away and I was not okay. Gracie had been my best friend and garden companion. To work through my crushing grief, I took on a massive project to transform the "ugly part" of my yard and unexpectedly, a kind stranger gifted me 11 mystery dahlia tubers. Those first dahlias brought me so much joy! I made bouquets that I gave to friends and coworkers, and my grief lessened.
Through the years, many more dahlia varieties joined the garden; the number and size of planting beds increased; many bouquets were made & enjoyed. I adopted an older kitty from the Whatcom Humane Society: a Tortie named Rosie. Life was good!
In the summer of 2024, I ended my career of 20+ years in the hospitality industry. It was the perfect time to see if my passion for dahlias could be more than just a hobby, and Bay Horizon Dahlias was born. In 2025, this little farm will be home to over 400 dahlia plants (250 different varieties), with plans for future expansion.
Thanks for stopping by and please check out the tuber shop! Hopefully you'll find a dahlia or 2 (or more, hahah) from my eclectic collection to add to your garden!
Thank you for supporting my small business!
Happy Growing, dahlia friends!
